Salzburg, Rome, and a little bit of Paris!

| Location: Paris, France
Hey everyone! Sorry I have not blogged in a while. We did not get very good internet reception in Rome so I will give you a brief recap on Sulzburg and Rome and also tell you about our first day in Paris today!

We were in Salzburg the 8th and the 9th. While we were there, we went to service at the Salzburg Dom Cathedral and the Hohensulzburg castle. The first picture above is the view from the castle. The second picture is a picture of Kesley Essick and I. It was a little rainy that day. Then the third picture is part of the castle that we saw. It had an amazing view and was beautiful.

Then we headed to Rome from the 10th to 12th. The first day that we were there, we went to the Colosseum. It was amazing to actually see it in person. I could not believe it when I was actually walking the steps that the gladiators and Emperors used to walk on. It was a spectacular moment. After the Colosseum we went to the Palatine, were the Emperors used to live and the Forum. One of the most interesting things at the Forum that I saw was Caesar's grave. I have read about the fall and murder of Caesar but, by seeing the grave, it all came into reality that it actually happened and I was experiencing it at that moment. We then went and checking into the hotel and after the hotel we went to the Spanish steps and the Trevi Fountain. I also experienced geloto that day. Best thing that I think man has ever created :)

Tossing my coin and making a wish at the Trevi Fountain!

The second day we went to Pompeii. We meet up with a tour guide who took as all around this ancient city. For those of you who do not know what Pompeii is, Pompeii is a city that was buried alive with all of its inhabitants by Volcanic ash in ancient times. All the buildings and people were preserved by the ash except for the wood that was burned. I could not believe how big this city was. We only spent 2 hours on this tour and our tour guide said that to actually see the whole city, it would take the whole day!

The main walkway to all the stores that were lined up alone the streets before Pompeii was buried with ash

The last day that we were in Rome, we went to Vatican city, the Sistine Chapel, and the Mediterranean Sea. We went to the huge Cathedral in the Vatican City which was very big and beautiful. The Sistine Chapel was even better than I imagined it and the artwork on the wall was absolutely breathtaking. We went to the Mediterranean sea later that day to watch the sunset on the beach. It was the perfect end to a wonderful day! :)

This is part of Vatican City. The cathedral that we went to is located in the back with the dome shaped. There were pictures of the Pope everywhere in the church and all around Vatican City. In the church, Kelsey Essick was able to buy Holy water(water that was blessed by the Pope) which was 3 euros.

Today we arrived in Paris and went strait to the Eiffel Tower. We did not get to go up today but we have a tour tomorrow and I heard that there is an ice skating rink on the first level of the tower! Should be amazing!! We also went to Notre Dame. Have you ever watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame? Well the church...looks exactly how it does in the movie! Probably even more beautiful. While there, they played beautiful music and we all got to light a candle. They also had a huge box were you could write words of praise or what you are most thankful for.

This is a picture of Notre Dome at night! I decided to put a night picture because I thought that it looked even more impressive at night!

The Eiffel Tower! So amazing!

Well that is all for now! I will try to blog a lot more for everyone! Keep checking up on all the BVU blogs! Hope you guys enjoyed all the pictures this time!
