Meeting BVU Alumni

| Location: Anaheim, CA, USA
Sunday January 8, 2012:

Today we had the morning to ourselves, so we slept in a bit and then finished going through California Adventure.  We didn't have much left to cover, but we went to Tower of Terror and watched "It's Tough to be a Bug".  The theme of Tower of Terror was really great!  Disney does a great job with their attractions.  The difference with attractions and rides is that attractions have a story and a theme behind them.  Rides, on the other hand, are just rides.  You stand in line, get on the ride, and leave. Tower of Terror was really creepy.  We actually felt like we were in a worn down, creepy hotel.  Monsters Inc. also had a great story to it!  We even got to meet Sully outside after getting off the attraction.

'It's Tough to be a Bug' was a great 3-D show.  Actually, it was more like 4-D.  We could smell things that went along with the show, something in our seats made us feel like creepy crawlies were beneath us, and we got sprayed with water.  It was a very cute show!  The picture to the right is of Amanda in her 3-D glasses, ready for the show to start!

In the afternoon we got to meet with several BVU Alumni at ESPN Zone.  We had drinks and appetizers as we talked with them about BV and their own personal experiences.  It was strange/fascinating that such a large group that went to school together ended up in the same area in California.  It was nice to meet with them as many of them are kind of doing what I am going to school for, Digital Media.  Even the other students thought their stories were interesting and, also, funny.  Many of them had questions about what BV is like now so that they could compare it to the campus that they attended years ago.  Sounds like it hasn't changed too much, but there are differences!  Hopefully, someday, I will get a chance to see them again!  I can't thank them enough for taking time out of their weekend to meet with us!

On our last night in California, we decided to go out to eat.  Amanda, Kayla, Mary Jane, and I decided to walk to Bubba Gump.  It wasn't an awful walk, but definitely plenty far.  I must say, it was an awesome choice!  I'd never been there before, but it was some of the best seafood I've ever had.  Afterwards, Mary Jane and I were too tired to pack up.  We decided to get to bed early and pack our bags in the morning.
