Fantasmic!

Day #2 was, honestly, magical! Disneyland was absolutely amazing and the weather contributed!

We started off our morning with David Koening who was awesome at sharing the story of Disneyland. It's shocking to learn about the many fails that occurred during it's early stages. Walt Disney believed in his ideas and dreams so much that he kept trying until he got it right. Dave took us through the different lands and explained how the park has grown and changed over the years. Disneyland is not nearly as large as Disneyworld, but they always find room for more attractions. I will say they do a great job of utilizing space.

Dave helped explain how important the whole idea of 'storytelling' is. I know, I say storytelling and it seems like a really simple term to understand... But it's really not. Storytelling is all about details and completely surrounding the guests (when at Disney, you're a guest) so that they actually feel like they're part of the story. Crazy stuff! Each attraction is it's own story and I started to see this first hand as I explored in the afternoon.

Of course, my favorite place so far has been Fantasyland because we walked through Aurora's castle. Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Pirates of the Caribbean were also favorites! Haunted Mansion is themed with Nightmare Before Christmas for the holidays. Disney definitely uses the holidays in it's attractions like the parade and Fantasmic.

Our night concluded with the fireworks (complete with fake snow) and Fantasmic. Fantasmic is hard to describe. It's an elaborate show on the waters of Frontierland. It's kind of like a light and water show with Disney characters. It's nothing short of awesome!

Tomorrow brings more magical adventures! Can't wait! I'll have pictures soon!
