Gardening, Easter Baskets, and Tornadoes

What an eventful day in Dallas!  This morning, some of our group went to the old Bryan's House location and dug up some sod to be transplanted to the new location.

While Caitlin, Jessica, Ashley, and Matt were busy digging up plants, the rest of us spent time in the classrooms and playground with the kids. Zach was a huge hit on the playground today and was very patient with the children during playtime.  There were also some developmental milestones for some of the younger kids.  One child began making vocal sounds, which was a big step.

Bryan's House will be having an Easter egg hunt on Friday morning!  We are very excited to be a part of this.  We helped stuff the eggs with candy and assemble the baskets.

As many of you may know, the Dallas area was hit with some severe storms and tornadoes today.  We were fortunate to not be affected by the weather, but many places were badly affected.  Please keep the people of Dallas in your thoughts as clean up from the storms begins.  Below is a link with more information about the tornadoes:

During the tornado warning at Bryan's House, the children had to be woken up from their nap and brought into the hallway for their safety.  Our team did a great job in helping to keep the children calm and secure.

I think we have all learned a lot about ourselves so far on this trip and have been able to take on challenges in a very positive way.  We make a great team! :)

Until next time!
Allison and the rest of the Dallas team!
