Saturday in Korea

Unlike America, school in Korea is in session as normal on Saturday. Molly and I got to plan another day of lessons for our students. We finished up the movie we had been watching and asked the students to complete an open mind portrait of one of the characters and  to write 3 paragraphs about the movie. We collected both items; I'm excited to see what the students got out of the movie.  We also presented students with their final presentation expectations today. Students had to pick a topic they felt non-Korean people need to know about Korea. The last week we are here, we will have 12 presentations over several topics related to life in Korea. I am excited to see what students present us with.

Today we also decided to do laundry, which was fun. We had to have one of the students show us how to use the machine because it was obviously labeled in Korean. They also do not have dryers here, so we have to hang up all of our clothes and hope that they get dry.

The highlight of today is having one of our students, Liz, bring us in a Domino's Pizza. This wasn't a typical pizza, however, it had potato wedges, bacon, corn, cream cheese, mushrooms and onions (I picked off the last two). It was delicious! They also brought us some Pepsi. I'm not a huge Pepsi fan, but let me tell you, life for a week without caffeine or beverages other than water can make a Pepsi drinker out of anyone.

Tomorrow morning (at 7:00 AM) we will be heading out with one of our students and her father to catch a bullet train to Seoul. We will be there most of the day, which I am looking forward to. I believe we are not supposed to get back until 11:30 PM
