Reflections on London

The four days spent in London were one the best times of my life. The first day we arrived we didn’t do much since our British Airway flight was delayed by six hours. We had an hour long tour drive around London. It is such a beautiful city. There are people everywhere you go.

The second day in London was one of the best days ever! First we went to the London Dungeon. It was basically a haunted house that involved the customers in different ghost stories. I loved it there. I admit that I was a bit scared during the tour but luckily I survived. At first there where mirrors all around us and we had to basically find our way to the nearest exit. It was impossible since the mirrors surrounded us all over so we were pretty much walking into our own reflections. There was a lot of storytelling along the way of how people were tortured to death. They had us go into a boat that had us ride backwards and bump into walls while it was completely dark. I closed my eyes the entire time since I tend to get sick on rides like that. One of the places had us watch a video and where we sat was basically a ride that lifted you up in the air and spun you around. I was not expecting that at all. We were basically supposed to shoot at the 4-d screen with our fake guns to supposedly protect ourselves while we spun in circles. One of the last places we were to experience was being hung. It led us a ride that lifted you up in the air and let you down very fast. I skipped out on that one because I try to avoid heights as much as I possibly can. It was fun watching everyone else do that one though.

We then walked to our next destination so along the way I took many pictures including several  of Big Ben. Then we toured the towers of London. That was pretty cool. We got to see how different people dressed back then and all of the crowns that belonged to the kings and queens. The suits they used to wear during war were displayed along with different swords that belonged to different kings. It was fun learning about their history. I recall also seeing a display that showed how they used to make coins before they had machines. Anyways, after that we went on a ride on the Ferris wheel. That was so fun! I was scared at first to go on it I knew I would probably not be coming to London again so I should take advantage of the opportunity. Part of the group didn’t go on the Ferris wheel so it was only half of us who went on. Before going in the Ferris wheel we were shown a 4-d video that made me question whether or not I should go on it. It was a bit scary seeing the video because it made it seem as if the ride went pretty fast while on it. Once I got on it I realized it was moving extremely slow. It was a beautiful sight to see all of London during the night. I felt accomplished after going on that ride because I have never been on a Ferris wheel before.

We met up with our tour guide after that and he showed us all the different sightings of where vampires, witches and ghost have supposedly been seen. It was not the best tour ever. The tour guide looked old but he sure different walk his age. It was hard to keep up with him and I didn’t really learn much from him. I think he was in a hurry but it was still nice to view a different part of London.
Then next day we met up with the group around 8:30 am and got on our private bus that took us Woodhenge, Stonehenge, and Bath. Woodhenge was interesting but not as interesting as Stonehenge. They are both over 5,000 years old. We took lots of pictures while we were there. At Stonehenge they gave us a tape recorder that gave us a tour and history about it. We all took a group picture and then headed to Bath. Bath is a world heritage site that is known for its architecture. I made sure to take plenty of pictures and tour the town while I was there.  Later that night we met with our tour guide to begin the Jack the Ripper tour. Our tour guide was amazing. She took us to all the different sites where Jack the Ripper's victims would prostitute at. We went through different allies and hidden roads where the assassinations of the victims took place.

The last day in London was a free day for everyone to do whatever they wanted. I went to a couple museums such as the Natural History Museum and the Art Gallery and then ended my night by going to the Wizard of Oz play. It was the best play I had ever seen

The time I spent in London was entertaining. It was well spent because I got to see and do all the things that I wanted to. I enjoyed every single day in London and I made some memories that I will never forget.
