First day in Amsterdam

We arrived in Amsterdam today at 10:30pm. We were all exhausted from our long flight but that didn't stop us getting a start at all the sightseeing. After checking into our hotel we went to the reijks museum were we looked at paintings and collections of the Dutch through their development as a cultural. We then took a tour through the Redlight district. For those of you who have never been to the Redlight district or have even heard of it, it is definitely a cultural shock and an interesting experience for those in the United States. After this we had free time and we celebrated the new year with the people of Amsterdam. It is an experience that I will probably never forget. Let's just say that people would rather drive on the sidewalks then the streets and people like to through fireworks wherever they please, some fireworks coming in contact to other people. I enjoyed spending New Years Eve with the people of Amsterdam. :)
