Hello from the Windy City!

Well – we made it! We survived the ride with Ken and Carol as our drivers! It was a long eight hours with two of our AWOL family members suffering from bronchitis (Turissa & Caitlin). Everyone put a smile on for a picture before we left. See you in a week, BVU!

On our way, we stopped at the I-80 truck stop, better known as the World’s Largest Truck Stop. What a place!

While we were there, we picked up some lunch and explored. The place had a barber, a chiropractor, a theater, a Laundromat, a dentist, and you could buy anything and everything there. We had a blast, but of course, we managed to lose Roland while we were there. A few of our team members quickly found him so we could get back on the road. We made it to our new home, First Christian Church, around 5:30 pm. We were let in by our main man Brock, one of the guys who works at the church, who then gave us a tour of the facility. We decided to go drive around Chicago to find a place for dinner and came across a Habachi grill. We ate ourselves silly, picked up a few groceries for breakfast, and headed back. We ended our night with reflection, made up our mattresses that we are so very fortunate to have, and fell asleep with images of Chicago dancing in our heads.
