BVU Spring Break Service Trip Blogs Start Next Week!

I'm excited to announce that bloggers who are participating in BVU's AWOL (Alternative Week of Off-site Learning) program will start posting here next week! The trips represented will be South Dakota Pine Ridge Reservation, Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas, Hunger and Homelessness in Chicago Illinois, and a Children and Poverty trip to a "mystery" location. Check out the AWOL web page to learn more about each service trip.

A little bit about AWOL - this is Buena Vista University's 13th year of its service-based alternative spring break program. Since AWOL's first year, 463 students have provided over 16,500 hours of service in 4 countries and 10 states.

You should also check out this pretty awesome map of BVU's service trip locations (put together by our office of Civic Engagement). Click on a marker to learn more about each trip.
