Hey Everyone!
We've been in Korea for about 19 hours and have already taught our first day of class. Today, they had a mini-opening ceremony for our class and each of the students introduced themselves in a brief formal presentation. We were able to see the students' general English abilities and start to build relationships with them. After opening ceremonies, we were put in charge of the class we played a name/acronym game, had the students give us a tour of the school, worked on vocabulary, looked at books, and practiced having conversations. Most of the students seem to be highly motivated and interested in learning English.
Later, we are going to experience our first Korean restaurant with the teachers and principal of the school. I'm excited to try the food because the food in the cafeteria has not been as scary as I thought it might be. We will also be going shopping at E-Mart, which I am told is far better than Wal-mart.
